I have noticed this happened in a lot of book.... in book study people would be reading and the words would
suddenly be different in a newer version, no explanations given.

Changes in the DANIEL'S PROPHECY book
by observador ini have been told that a number of changes has been made to the daniel's prophecy book between the first edition (or printing) and the latest edition of it.
the funny thing is that these changes are inconsistent among the media (paper book and editions of the wt lib cd).. so, if you get the daniel's prophecy book you have in your home and compare it to wt lib cd 2004, you will only be able to confirm some of these changes.

Meat eating preditors will eat grass like a lamb!
by jimakazi ini am always a little pi***d when i see jw illustrations showing lions and tigers in the close vacinity of samll children, lambs and other meaty treats with no safety barriers.
[why this is paradise is beyound me - these anaimals smell].. so if we assume an intelligent creator, why would he create large meat eating preditors if he really ment them to eat grass?
every thing about their make up is about specialistation, from teeth, to jaws, to how their stomachs work.

all predators have their eyes in the front so they can used their binocular vision to target their prey....just like humans.
while prey animals generally have their eyes on the side so they can see nearly all the way around.

when something did not really went as he liked it (didn't get the answer etc) he shouted very loudly 'god doom me in the hell!
one time i had to do the closing prayer on the midweek meeting.

Does the idea of a bodyless soul make sense? Could the 'soul' stay sane?

in many religions-christianity, hinduism, and buddhism, as well as greek philosophy-attempts are made to mortify the body, to respond as little as often to it's carnal needs and what-not.
this is possible to be prepared for a new existence as just a disembodied soul, in some heavenly spirit realm or what-not.. .

well, i said everything we can test is physical, including energy. but i know what you are getting at. i am just wary of the "can't know anything outside of ourselves is real" worldview. for example, the transference of energy when i am hit by a bus while crossing the street is easily observed by myself and others.
we are talking souls here....and should such beasties actually exist, their experiences of energy being transferred, while as real as any reality will ever get, may still be a personal experience with no necessary connection to anything or anyone else...should others actually exist.

that is not really true
everything we KNOW is mental, a representation of data we dont really know the true source nor the medium and while not likely, it need not originate anywhere beyond your own being.
or as I believe it does not originate beyond our shared passing of data--- many minds sharing a holographic sort of data keeping it all stable
where as our individual minds tend to freewheel in dream worlds dominated by our own thoughts--- but the fact is that you have never known anything which was not manufactured within your own being....and the true nature of that being is basically unknowable as it is not part of anything it has shown us

Question for agnostics and/or atheists
by sonnyboy ini've just recently declared my agnosticism to myself and to one other person in my life.
i don't necessarily consider myself an atheist because i believe there very well may be some higher power or non carbon based entities in existence with 'godlike' abilities.
my question is, do you still find yourself secretly believing in god?

So, a) there is no God. b) the universe is mechanical and completely indifferent c) justice is a myth because there can be no such thing as good or bad or wrong behavior. The worst guy on earth is no different than you or I or anyone else. The difference is he, more often than not, gets away with it all (for the most part). But even if he doesn't, the worst thing that can happen to him is, he dies, which we are all going to do anyway. So let's just let it all hang out and do our own thing, and to hell will everyone else. So what? Who cares? In the end, nothing matters.....not really!!!
if you see it from this typical point of view, you are correct, in the end nothin of this matters, but this is a very odd and irrational point of view... a point of view which assume you exist after you are dead and non-existant and care about the outcome.... silly no?
when does life really matter? it matters while you are living it and it matters what you do and what others think about you and what they may do to you is you dont navigate their irrational beliefs.
justice is a human construct imposed on other humans when they have similar beliefs

you are reality dreaming.....
what you are dreaming about may be reality itself, or your true nature, or it may have no reference to your true nature, and there is no actual way to tell which is which.
we can all be locked into a shared matrix like dream and never know otherwise.... the fact is that everything you know is your own minds invention and need not map reality at all in any way shape or form.... especially if you are some sort of immortal energy which cannot be dispersed nor destroyed by anything....which of course is always a possibility....
the buddhist view of the bardo is similiar to what happens to those who go into sensory deprivation tanks for several days... freeded from the shared data stream, the mind implodes...

Genesis 6:2 - The "sons of God"
by rocketman inwhile reading the niv study bible recently, i came across some interesting notes on genesis 6:1-4, concerning the situation before the flood in which the "sons of god saw the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.".
from what i had always understood (mainly by reading wts literature) these "sons of god" were angels that sinned by taking the daughters of men as sex partners.
however, the niv study bible, and some other bible commentators, mention that there were other possibilities:.

Interesting how they say heavenly beings can take on fleshly bodies...yet in the case of Christ, he had to will himself out of existance, have Jehovah re-create him in human form, cease to exist again, then be recreated as a spirit again. Just a side observation.
how one can transition from spirit being to human is never spoken much by the JWs...and there is no real rational way to do it, but that does not matter..... yet, why was this sacrifice from a heavenly being to the form of a slave not worth anything of it self?
